Plus Ca Change...

Break out the champagne!

Tonight, 'Support for Israel is in my DNA' just beat 'I am Proud of my Party's Historic Friendship with Israel' in a ballot for the leadership of the Australian Labor Party 57 to 45.

Well ill be damned, here i was thinking Kosher Kev had been blacklisted for life by the powers that be in Tel Aviv, after the stolen passport and UN abstention, and here he is puppet in chief again.
If the attempt to get Ahmadinejad before the ICC wasnt a disgusting enough spectacle, his next act of servile obedience is sure going to be epic.

Yeah. But what's the bet that Gillard will get a job with the zionist lobby after leaving parliamentary politics, while Rudd will not?

"The powers that be in Tel Aviv"? "Puppet in chief"? "The Zionist Lobby"? Both two upper comments are no more than pure antisemitism!!

MERC said...

How so?

The answer is very simple: for hundreds of years Jews were been accused of having power that they use to control the world and manipulate governments for their interest and benefits.

If you read the two comments carefully, you will feel that same smell wafts of them.

Sir, my people paid with blood for these kind of charges.

Are you seriously suggesting that Tel Aviv doesn't pull strings in places like Washington or Canberra? That someone like Rudd, who talks about having support for Israel in his DNA, expresses a desire to drag Ahmadinejad before the World Court, and throws a birthday party in Australia's federal parliament for its 60th, is operating in a complete vacuum?

And how do you think Chaim Weizmann got the Balfour Declaration out of the British in 1917 if not by playing up the notion of Jewish influence. (See my 12/4/11 post 'Only In the Australian'.)

Needless to say, highlighting cases of influence and pressure being brought to bear on Western politicians and media outlets by the Israeli govt. and its agents in key Western countries has nothing whatever to do with loopy notions of Jews qua Jews controlling the world.

Your beef is - or should be - with Zionism, which conflates itself with Judaism, has created an exclusionary 'Jewish' state in Palestine, and claims to speak for and act on behalf of all Jews, with or without their consent.

@Anonymous No-one mentioned anything about Jews till you did. You wouldn't be equating anti-Zionism with anti-semitism would you?

Merc,

Last year the the UN declared the State of Palestine. The Palestinians did all efforts to influence governments and delagations to vote for them (Something that I happy with). Can we speak on Palestinian influence or Palestinian lobby? Is this illegal or negative action? certainly no!!! it is a legal and normal diplomatic action as the actions of Weizmann, which I proud of it, and other Zionists activists are normal and legal.

No body put strings in any place. Diplomatic actions are regular thing all over the world. It has negative view only when it is Israeli diplomatic action.

About signing anon (like you, last comment): If you really want to know, my name is Eli Lehrer, I am a researcher and lecturer in molecular Biology in Jerusalem. I am not "Hasbartchik", I am an Israeli and the only thing I want is to leave in peace with the Palestinians in this small land.

By the way, I am sleeping well and writing my comment while you, in Australia, are sleeping. :)

This is getting tedious, Eli. As a scientist you will of course want to check out factual data that contradicts your theory/theories, right? So see my 24/9/11 post 'Arm-Twisting for Israel' and follow up on the reading list there. Cheers.

I am responsible for comment #2 which you identify as anti-semitic. Just to be clear, I am Jewish, so you should really be calling me a self-hating Jew rather than an anti-semite.

As to my allegation that Gillard will be receiving income from the zionist lobby, please note that this is based on experience to date. Gillard's partner, Tim Mathieson, a hair-dresser by training with no prior experience in real estate, left hair-dressing to take a highly paid job selling real estate for Albert Dadon, Chairman of the Australia Israel Cultural Exchange (a leading zionist lobby). Mathieson only quit after the arrangement was publicised in the mainstream media. Google the names, and read the story.

Merc, Sorry, if my comments getting tedious so I think better I will stop to read and comment on your blog. Writing on Israel and Zionism for several years, extract any negative sentence or word or even letter about Israel is not tedious at all.

Again, this blog is an anti-Israeli, anti-Zionist and anti-Semitic blog. The only purpose of this blog is to blacken the face of Israel and Zionism. Maybe I am not enough sophisticated and clever like you all their in Australia, but one simple thing I know: Israel is my home!! Zionist movement gave shelter to my (former) refugees parents!!

Please, continue your good job.

Best Regards
Eli

Merc,

A minute ago I sent you my last comment. Although you won't like it, I ask you personally to respect me and be brave enough to publish it.

From my side I promise I will not comment any more even not under anon, you can recognize my bad English and style of writing.

Best Regards
eli

Eli, the Zionist movement had no right to give your parents refuge in a land that didn't belong to them without the consent of its people.

At the same time, it opposed Jewish efforts to boycott German goods, was happy to collaborate with the Nazis so long as German Jews could be funneled into Palestine alone, worked to sabotage such initiatives as the 1938 Evin Conference aimed at finding other places of refuge for German Jews, did deals with the Nazis during the war (eg Hungary), and even, in the case of Lehi, proposed a wartime alliance against the British.

Of course you wouldn't have learned in about this in an Israeli school. But you're a grown-up now and can learn all about it if you are seriously interested in what really happened.

I agree with Mannie, Shlomo Sand is a bloody good place to start and the good folk of Zochrot in Tel Aviv are the people to go to if you want to know about 1948.

Cheers.

The Australian political system is being corrupted by the zionist lobby. The clear majority of the Australian people sympathise with the plight of the dispossessed Palestinians, and object to the continuing theft of their land and resources. Yet, the political class continues to support Israel ensuring that the theft continues. Why?

1) The zionist lobby funds all expenses paid trips for politicians (44 declared trips in 2011-12, see http://www.smh.com.au/opinion/political-news/skys-the-limit-for-political-gifts-20120829-2514z.html);
2) The zionist lobby uses its resources to curry favour with promising members of both major political parties (e.g., jobs for Gillards' boyfriend; a likely future leader of the Labour party, Bill Shorten's benefactor is the zionist billionaire Richard Pratt)
3) The zionist lobby funds all expenses-paid trips for journalists to visit Israel to ensure that the media maintain a pro-Israel stance (and you have to be pro-zionist to work for the Murdoch press anyway).

Australians have to counter this perversion of our democracy, to ensure that the system does not provide cover for this crime. Those of us who are not billionaires can only use sites like MERCs.
