Why Netanyahu? Why Australia?

So why has the Turnbull government invited Benjamin Netanyahu to visit Australia next year? Sure, there's the perennial need to keep party coffers topped up, partly through Zionist money, but surely Netanyahu's malignant presence here isn't the price they (and we) have to pay for that?

It's worth noting that Israel's Public Security Minister, Gilad Erdan, is currently in London seeking the British government's cooperation in tackling the growth of the Boycott, Divestment & Sanctions (BDS) movement. He is reported as saying that:

"Great Britain is the world center of the anti-Israel BDS campaign... I'm going [to Britain] to battle the boycott and delegitimization in every arena, and to discuss with members of the British government - which is also committed to fighting boycotts - ways to strengthen our cooperation against [the] anti-Semitic boycott campaign... I will meet with government officials and law enforcement in order to form a front of democratic countries against the worldwide threat, which includes targeted action against incitement on the Internet." (Israeli minister says Brits will 'pay the price' for anti-Semitic boycotts, rt.com/uk, 7/9/16)

Remember too that Julie Bishop, extender of the invitation, declared back in 2013 that "the Coalition will institute a policy across government that ensures no grants of taxpayers' funds are provided to individuals or organisations which actively support the BDS campaign." (Libs to cut funding for anti-Israel activists, Ean Higgins, The Australian, 25/5/13) (See my 26/5/13 post Bishop Takes Axe to Human Rights Activism.)

Government invitations to war criminals to drop in for a cuppa are one thing, allowing them to lobby for restrictions on our democratic right to protest their criminality is quite another.

It is interesting that over the last few years 'anti-Semitic' has totally totally morphed into 'anti-Israeli Government policies'. That's a very dangerous path to tread. Mooser, in his inimitable style, keeps warning of the consequences of this kind of conflation over on MW. I wished, though, that RT had put 'anti-Semitic' in inverted commas as well as 'pay the price'.

If the Supremacist Jewish State is stepping up it's threats, then the next move is to pull back and loose; hold ground or crank it up.

The new right with the identity (very new to me) of "alt-right" are splitting into factions with the largest yet to show any substantive criticism of the supremacist Jewish State. Another alt-right seemingly genuinely nationalist anti-supremacist faction are growing very rapidly it seems to me, but at this stage only online and it seems they are being confounded by what I've called the alt-right Borat faction which I've blogged about, I hope you approve; I'd value your opinion for editing.

Looks like birth pangs taking place in the rapidly growing online alt-right: to accept vs reject Jews into the movement; and of the faction which claims to reject Jews, there appears to be a well organised and intelligent branch which freely uses "antisemitic" terminology yet offers no substantive criticism of Israel or Talmudic Judaism.

Would this be legal? Suppose I participate in a march in favour of BDS, can they, for instance, discriminate against me if I seek Commonwealth funding from the Anzac Centenary Production and Commissioning Fund? This seems to me to be at odds with basic rights on freedom of speech and discrimination. I would be interested in the opinion of a lawyer.

Grappler; America has a constitution guaranteeing free speech and yet even there some Gov bodies are threatening to or cutting funding and/or contracts with BDS'ers.
We have no such guarantees of free speech in Australia.
It's happening in other Western "Democracies" too.

In fact, Dr Frederick Tobin of Adelaide was even jailed for contempt of court after failing to remove "offensive" so called 'holocaust denial' info from his web site.
There are approx 2 dozen countries today with explicit holocaust denial laws; Australia achieves this via back door with discrimination/vilification/offense laws.

You will likely face "obstacles" finding a lawyer willing to zealously combat Israeli interests; let alone find one to do it online for free: as that
may jeopardise the flow of crumbs to their plate and perhaps not even be guarded by their professional indemnity insurance.

Jews seem to be unlike other interest groups; in so far as they seek to convince the government in the the lands where they live to adopt policies which are in the interest of another nation. As Malcolm Fraser pointed out: the Jewish Lobby in Australia, lobby our government to adopt policies as defined by Israel.

Seeing this will go some way to understand why many in the so called "left" Pro-Palestine movement, to the the various countries alt-right nationalist movements are calling for "no Jews in our movement": there is a wide understanding that if you scratch a Jew lightly, you will likely find an undermining Zionist who supports the adoption of pro-Israel policies and even memes.

Antisemitism:
At about 1290AD; Jews were expelled from England, in part due to large debts incurred by nobility from Jewish money lenders.
Antisemitism is seen as a psychological pathological condition which drives hate and jealousy for no rational reason. Jews have been expelled over 100+ times from various European nations or city-states.
It is seen as a a mental sickness in others, and not in any Judaic inspired attitudes and actions.
