"The Fascist planners of the bombing campaign knew that Guernica [Gaza] had no strategic value as a military target, but it was a cultural and religious center for Basque [Palestinian] identity. The devastation was intended to terrorize the population and break the spirit of the Basque [Palestinian] resistance. In effect it was intended to 'shock & awe' the Basques [Palestinians] into submission." (Guernica, employees.oneonta.edu)
"The Gillard government is taking the most aggressive position against Libya's Muammar Gaddafi of any Western nation, calling on the international community to impose a no-fly zone on Libya. Prime Minister Julia Gillard made the call in parliament yesterday after a similar call by Foreign Minister Kevin Rudd in a strong speech to the UN Human Rights Commission this week. Rudd declared in Geneva that 'we must never forget Guernica', a reference to the German airforce bombing of civilians during the Spanish Civil War in 1937." (Bloody final chapter looms, Greg Sheridan, The Australian, 3/3/11)
Hm... Guernica, eh? No such grand rhetoric from Rudd or Gillard back when Gaza's Guernica was in full swing. Just an Israeli talking point and a word of advice for Hamas:
"Israel's air strikes were a response to an 'act of aggression' by Hamas which had broken the ceasefire. We are saying to Hamas that they should cease any further action'." (Julia Gillard, quoted in A time for fighting, Jason Koutsoukis, Sydney Morning Herald, 29/12/08)

The term "stalking-horse" seems to fit Gillard, from Brewer's Dictionary of Phrase and Fable; A mask to conceal some design;a person put forward to mislead;a sham.Sportsmen often used to conceal themselves behind horses, and go on stalking step by step till they got within shot of the game.
The 'game' are the Palestinians,to be driven out,and the rest of the Arab world to be crippled and divided.
Such is the extent of of her abject and humiliating captivity by the lobby we should refer to her as JULIA GILLARD-SHALIT.
The irony here is that according to the Russian General Staff, their satellies reported no such aerial attacks!
But her we have Rudd and G wanting to do what gadaffi didnt...

who breaks ceasefires?
June 2006:
JERUSALEM (CNN) -- An Israeli navy gunboat fired shells onto a northern Gaza beach Friday, killing at least seven people and prompting the military wing of Hamas to call off a 16-month-old cease-fire with Israel.

Forget gaza....consider this:
Libyas airfore was supposed to have used airstrikes on civilians and so the americans/UK/Aus take umbrage, and want airstrike on Libyas forces.Of course these never happened, as russia spy satellites proved.
BUT what if the americans were to use airstrikes against civilians in afghanistan…could libya call for a no fly zone over Afghanistan, and would the west support it? But the americans/NATO would NEVER airstrike civilians…right?
Well youd be wrong!
Child air-strike deaths stir fury in Afghanistan
Two of Nasim's sons went into the hills to collect firewood last week to warm the family's humble home against the biting Afghan winter chill. They never returned, killed along with seven other children in a NATO air strike.
"The Americans are wild," said the boys' father, who uses only one name and whose sons were aged 11 and 12, crying as he spoke. "They don't value humanity and don't care about our children.
"The men who carried out the air strike and the ones who ordered it should be brought to court."
…..
Civilian casualties in foreign military operations targeting the Taliban and other fighters have long been an issue in Afghanistan

Will Australias Kevin Rudd of Julia Gillard call for airstrikes on NATO forces? Don’t hold your breath
